Jesus gave His final breath,
And we, in turn, drew our first.
On the cross, death was defeated,
In his resurrection our salvation secured.
The veil was torn, the gap undone,
The Holy One of God made a way for us.

Submission to Christ, our freedom from sin,
Released from worry, from death set free—
In our surrender, we find our life,
Eternal and whole, forever redeemed.

Sin took its hold, and we lost hope.
In our flesh, death tightened its grip,
Salvation a distant hope,
The gap between God and man forever wide.
The way to freedom remains closed,
The chains of sin unbroken, the weight of worry unlifted.

Rebellion against God, our slavery to sin,
Bound by fear, by death, by despair—
In our defiance, we lose our way,
Separated and lost, eternally undone.
