Sentimientos Del Macho

Curated By Mark Hernandez

“Sentimientos del Macho” explores the emotions and stereotypes surrounding the Latino male. For generations, the term “Macho” has been used to describe men in the Latino community, promoting the idea that men must not feel, as emotions are seen as weakness. This stereotype has shaped families, communities, and the world’s perception of men, stifling emotional maturity. The artists in this exhibition reflect on how Machismo has shaped their roles as men, fathers, and husbands. Through their diverse works, they challenge the “macho” label and explore breaking free from its constraints. This exhibition aims to reclaim the true meaning of being “macho,” fostering a healthier understanding of emotional expression, depicted in both 2D and 3D art.
